Blue Apple Electric announces its decision to sponsor the Cyber Safe Parent campaign to educate Southern Nevada parents and children about cyber safety. Created by 8 News NOW, the Cyber Safe Parent campaign will begin March 4, 2019 and run through March 1, 2020; campaign content will appear on TV, billboards, the Cyber Safe Parent microsite on LasVegasNOW.com, and 8 NewsNOW social media profiles.
Social media blasts, news stories, interviews, and online information will expose the dangers posed to children online and provide parents with tips to protecting their children. A Blue Apple Electric representative will be appearing in a 30-second slot weeknights at 7PM on KLAS-TV to caution parents of the threats posed to children using the Internet and provide tips to keeping them safe.
Statistics released by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) reveal that 42.1 percent of children have seen online porn and one out of 20 children have arranged a secret meeting with someone they met online.
David Schafer, COO of Blue Apple Electric, says “In light of alarming statistics and rising rates of Internet crime against children, the Blue Apple Electric team will do their part to help kids in Nevada stay safe. We encourage our customers and local residents to seek out information about kids’ cyber safety and learn how they can help prevent Internet crime.”
